Katana is 21st-century script typeface that thrives with energy. Its stylised letterforms feature a strong slant: about 40°, or more than twice the amount of slant found in a typical italic font.

Katanas angularity expresses an aura that combines the small refined details of calligraphy with the vibrancy of large-format graffiti lettering.

Unusual for a script typeface, Katana has multiple weights available; there are five in the family, and they range from Light through Bold.

As one shuffles from each weight to the next, the level of stroke contrast increases.

While Katanas Light weight is monolinear, the Bold weight has extremely hight contrast between its thick and thin strokes, which dials up the fonts dynamic-feeling even more.

The heavier weights clearly look like their letterforms have been written with broad pens or brushes, and the heaviest font looks like a techno-style design crossed with the work of a traditional sign-painter.

Each member of the Katana family has lining figures as its fonts default numeral style, but there are also oldstyle figures available through an OpenType feature.

Plus, each font includes about 26 alternate glyphs, substituted into the text whenever the contextual alternates feature is active.

Katana is a great addition to an editorial designers toolkit. It comes from Parimal Parmar, a designer in Ahmedabad/India.

More and more, nostalgia marketing has only continued to increase in popularity. Maybe its because our lives have become so hectic and demanding that we all secretly long for a simpler time.

There is certainly comfort to be found in the familiar, and vintage-style fonts tend to evoke a warm sensory response in most of us.

Like YWFT Blender. This retro-fied type design offers a bubbly structure thats hand drawn and soaked in vintage style.

Heavy, fluid brush strokes come alive through jubilant curves and curls, with thick paint strokes much like those youd find above the door of your favorite local cafe.

And just like that first cup of coffee with a pastry side, YWFT Blender is warm and inviting, with just the right amount of sugar added for good measure.

More Available in regular and italic, YWFT Blender is great for signage and displays, shop windows, logos, product packaging, merchandise, vintage screened t-shirts, posters, menus, and any project that needs an organic font with a happy disposition.

The Vtg Stencil fonts from astype are based on real world stencils from several countries.

The Italian stencils that I chose as a model for this font are roughly based on classic French stencil letters – please compare the figures (numbers) with their French counterparts.

However, the Italian stencils are made with a different production technique. The design of the letters is clearly not punch-cut into the plates – maybe they are drilled, milled or etched.

Details such as the serifs look bold and clumsy, and when using the stencils as they are meant, with viscous sign paint, smaller details easily fade away.

More So I took my freedom to design a font close to the original design but adding several typographic tweaks to let it shine, hoping to get closer to the intended design idea of these Italian stencils.

Rialto Script is inspired by old polish neon signs and their very imaginative and expressive lettering.

Neon signs were designed by great Polish artists and architects during communistic times in Poland.

A large number of alternates and swashes make every word unique, just like the neon signs were in this period.

The typeface is designed to evolve as your type. It contains contextual alternates, basic and discretionary ligatures, initials and swashes. There are swashes for capitals, beginning and ending swashes in lowercase, plus dash swashes in lowercase.

Lower and upper case contain a set of block letters which you can find by turning on Small Caps.

More Rialto Script is a monolinear display swashed script and came from dynamic and rhythmical handwriting.

All of the glyphs sit slightly above the baseline with a slanted axis. Rialto is perfect for titles, logos, signs and of course, neon signs.

The publication of this more mature design is the result of a previous 1-style project which was developed in 2010.

Rita, the new design, has increased from one single style to a full font family, with a strong personality, ideal for short text for high impact designs.

Rita is a slab serif typeface that offers a wide range of weights and widthsfrom a thin, ultra condensed font to a heavy variant for poster design.

Dallas Print Shop is a refined display collection of five styles and eight fonts. The fonts are designed to act together. They work great in pairs or even all together yet they can well be used alone. More Dallas Print Shop Sans is a sturdy Sans with soft edges and two weights - Regular and Heavy Dallas Print Shop Serif is a sturdy Serif with straight forms and just slightly rounded corners.

Serif has three weights: Regular, Heavy and Inline which is same as Heavy but with ornate inlines.
